Peoples Bank partners with online network to promote local businesses

Peoples Bank is excited to announce the creation of a new merchant discount network geared toward promoting local businesses in west-central Iowa.

Through a partnership with BaZing, an online membership program, Peoples Bank is offering local businesses a free advertising platform while customers can take advantage of great deals and discounts.

BaZing is a free network that allows businesses to advertise on its free phone app in exchange for ongoing, exclusive discounts. Because BaZing partners with banks and credit unions across the country, its network is vast and offers savings for customers almost anywhere.

All Peoples Bank customers will have access to the app, allowing businesses to draw in new people and keep them coming back.

“Peoples Bank is always looking for new and unique ways to promote local businesses and offer benefits to our customers,” said President and Chief Operations Officer John Rigler III. “We believe this platform does both. It’s truly a win for our communities.”

Here’s how it works: Businesses throughout Peoples Bank’s service area can sign up for free and offer special discount offers for the community. Merchants can control their discounts at any time by logging into their online BaZing merchant account to add or edit existing offers.

At the point of sale, customers simply show their mobile coupon to receive the discount. Customers can also print a paper coupon from

Merchants can tailor discounts to fit their business needs. Discounts can range from half-priced appetizers for restaurants to 10 percent off any service at an auto repair shop.
